Slime is a leading cause of ice machine breakdowns and biological growth is a health concern.Manitowoc's exclusive CleanAir Pack Accessory releases chlorine dioxide on a controlled basis to inhibit the growth of bacteria and fungi that form slime and cause odors in the food zone of ice machines.
It is not uncommon to perform a monthly manual cleaning of an ice machine to remove slime. Professional cleaning will typically cost $250 on average. Manitowoc's CleanAir can extend slime cleaning effectiveness by up to six times the normal frequency... six months instead of one. The CleanAir pack housing is built into every S-Series and Q-Series ice machine.

It is a known fact that regularly scheduled preventative maintenance (cleaning) reduces the total operating cost of any ice machine. With AuCS, you simply select the monthly cleaning frequency through the Indigo display (0.5, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 months) and AuCS does the rest...automatically. ICVD REMOTE CONDENSING UNIT
For Indigo Series QuietQube Ice Cube Machines
CVD® (Cool Vapor Defrost) technology is basically a different type of ice harvest system that allows Manitowoc to move the compressor out of the customer environment. Standard remote condenser ice machines all use compressor hot gas systems to heat the evaporator during their ice harvest cycles. To make hot gas systems work, the compressor must be as physically close to the ice making evaporator as possible. This also means the noise from the compressor is always concentrated at the ice making part of the system. This is not something you want in a customer environment.
Manitowoc CVD ice machines use vapor refrigerant from the receiver tank to harvest the ice. The receiver tank is a refrigerant storage tank typically used on all remote ice machines and can be a source of vapor refrigerant for a harvest cycle if the system is configured correctly. CVD systems all use large capacity refrigerant accumulators for maximum compressor protection under any operating condition. Compressor and condenser heat and noise is always located outside away from the customer environment.
It not only makes QuietQube ice machines the quietest ever; it makes them more reliable, makes them efficient, and provides high levels of ice production too.

Cleaner Ice Machine Foodzones
The LuminIce device runs quietly 24 hours a day keeping your ice machine cleaner and helping to relieve the stress and pain of frequent cleanings. Reduced cleanings ultimately saves labor time, cost, and machine downtime during the cleaning process.
The LuminIce Growth Inhibitor creates "active air" by recirculating the air inside the ice machine food zone over a UV light. This "active air" passes over exposed food zone components to inhibit the growth of yeast, bacteria, and other common microorganisms.
Foodservice operations can often be in challenging environments where it is difficult to prevent yeast, mold and other microorganism contamination. With LuminIce II, testing has shown that ice machine foodzones are noticeably cleaner after only 2-1/2 months of usage.

Top Air Discharge Kit transfers air discharge from the sides of the ice machine to the top by having the louvered side panel on the top of the machine rather than the sides. This is ideal for locations where space on the sides of the ice machine is limited.
